Lane Arts Council’s professional development program, Professional Practice, will address the need by investing in cultural producers through this series of workshops. In addition, three individual attendees of the series will be awarded a stipend and funding to create programming for this year’s Fiesta Cultural, the celebration of Latino/a/x/e art, culture, and heritage, as an Empresario de Fiesta     .

About Professional Practice

Artists in Lane County have had few opportunities for professional development beyond developing their artistic practice. Financial planning, networking skills, and marketing help artists build new audiences and generate new income. Lane Arts Council has been providing professional development workshops for over ten years, leveraging local, regional, and national experts and consultants to support artists of all disciplines in their creative endeavors.

This iteration of Professional Practice is in collaboration with Lane Arts Council’s Fiesta Cultural program. By presenting workshops in Spanish we hope to support the development of artists and cultural producers from within the Latino/a/x/e community, especially those not served by previous workshops presented in English.

Professional Practice is presented by Lane Arts Council and sponsored by City of Eugene Cultural Services and Columbia Bank.
