Details: Let your imagination out to play with Nebula- and Stoker Award-winning writer Nina Kiriki Hoffman.

Have science fiction and fantasy movies, TV shows, books, and comics ignited your imagination? Would you like to create worlds and people of your own?

Explore strange new worlds. Imagine people with powers. Investigate alien encounters.

In this class, we’ll look at storytelling basics — characterization, plot, setting (including world-building), beginnings and endings, revision and marketing, all with a fantastic flare.

We’ll also use twenty-sided dice to roll up ingredients to get your mind cooking up stories.

In class, you’ll be doing in-class writing exercises, discussing aspects of fiction, sharing some short pieces, and giving and receiving feedback.

Nina offers extensive and thoughtful feedback on your work that you won’t want to miss.
