The Emerald Art Center’s presentation of the 35th annual PhotoZone Juried Show is on display now at the center at 500 Main St. in downtown Springfield, and it includes an eye-boggling collection of photographs ranging from nature to urban, still life to abstract, blazing color to black-and-white to aluminum print, on a wide variety of subjects.

In addition to the juried show, the center during July also features exhibits of work by two of its members, Barbora Bakalarova and Jay Tavris. Bakalarova’s show, Beauty Hath No Name, offers a collection of images “that ponder the notion of beauty, its layers, familiarity (and) ambiguity.” Tavris’ presents an up-close and vivid presentation of animals and birds indigenous to the Eugene-Springfield area — otters, beavers, mink, raptors, and hummingbirds, plus creatures found in various national parks and wetlands.

The Emerald Art Center will be open for a special evening reception during the downtown Springfield’s Second Friday Art Walk on July 11. The display can be seen during the center’s regular hours through Aug. 1.
