For years, Eugene artist, photographer and teacher Susan Detroy has been blending and melding photographs for years, to create stories and moods on a variety of themes, from juxtaposing women’s faces on nature scenes to using chronological images to explore the aging process.
Now she turns her attention to applying her varying techniques to tell other people’s stories, by using their personal photographs — from historic to present day — and intermixing and layering them to create one-of-a-kind works of art she calls Living Memories.
This work will be offered by commission through December 2020, with choices of five price levels of complexity, using signature techniques developed through her 45-year career.
