For just a month, the White Lotus Gallery in downtown Eugene is showing artwork by Japanese and Chinese artists whose creations are part of the gallery’s collection.
The exhibit, titled simply Selections From the Gallery Collection, includes prints by well-known contemporary artists such as Hamanishi Katsunori and Yayanagi Go — Hamanishi known for the soft, subtle imagery of his mezzotint prints, contrasted by Yayanagi’s silkscreen prints in bold colors and shapes that reflect his time spent in Africa, Latin America, and the Mediterranean, as well as his native Japan.
The show also features original paintings by other artists, ranging from the late 19th century — including traditional paintings on hanging scrolls — to contemporary Chinese artists Chen Ping and Cheng Jun.
