Just a week past the Winter Solstice, and the days already seem to be getting minutely longer, although some of that may be wishful thinking.

Nonetheless, with New Year’s Day still ahead — and despite the strangeness of this year’s pandemically challenged holiday season — there are still chances to celebrate the season.

One comes from The Shedd, which is offering a free online musical experience called That Holiday Feeling through 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.

It’s hosted by longtime Shedd singer Shirley Andress, sharing the virtual stage with the Emerald City Jazz Kings band and vocalists Siri Vik, Tracy Williams-Tooze, Marisa Frantz, Bob Cross, Vicki Brabham, Don Elkington, and Sean Peterson.

The program includes many traditional Christmas favorites such as “White Christmas,” “O Holy Night,” “Do You Hear What I Hear,” “Let It Snow,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” plus a special tongue-in-cheek version of “That Holiday Feeling.”

The video is available via YouTube through 6 p.m. on Dec. 31 at https://youtu.be/RQXT0tw5TVM
