Starting May 1 and running through May 30, the Emerald Art Center will present its 19th annual Emerald Spring Exhibition, which is a juried competition open to top artists throughout the United States.

This year’s judge is Michael Orwick, a native Oregonian master painter and resident of Beaverton, whose subjects often include the coast, mountains, and landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.

Orwick selected the pieces that will appear in the exhibition, as well as determining the prizewinners, who receive cash prizes for their efforts.  He will teach two workshops at the beginning of the exhibit:

May 1, 2- Painting Dynamic Skies That Glow on May 1-2 and Learn Two Ways to Start a Painting on May 3. Details, cost, and registration are available online at emeraldartcenter.org/class-workshop-form
