Details: A submission support group for writers. Overcome your fear of rejection and get your writing out into the world in this supportive, community-focused submission session–available in-person and online.
For many writers, writing the words and massaging them into shape through editing and revision is the fun part. But actually sending them out into the world to face likely rejection? Nope! That’s a bar far too high to leap.
But if you don’t, how will readers get to read your work?
If your favorite authors didn’t do their research, take a deep breath, and take the risk, how would their words ever have made their way to your eyeballs, brain, and heart?
Sending your work out on submission–whether it’s a short story, poem, book query, essay, or fellowship application–is scary. It can be hard. But we can do hard things together.
What you’ll get from coming to Submit Your Sh*t!
-Camaraderie and community around doing something hard that the nonwriters in your life likely don’t understand
-A giant pile of wonderful rejections and folks to celebrate them with! (Because rejections mean you’re getting your writing out into the world, and if you do it enough, you’ll get acceptances)
-Condolence/celebration chocolate
It’s easy to get discouraged going it alone. Wading through potential places to submit your work can be confusing and overwhelming to the point of paralysis.
But when you commit to sending your work out, on a specific date and time, in the company of others who care, who get it, and who want you to be successful, it makes it so much easier.
Cost: Pay From Your Heart, $21-$35
