Details from the UO School of Music and Dance: The David Oistrakh String Quartet features four of today’s most outstanding Russian musicians, all soloists in their own right, united in their artistry and their passion for the art of quartet playing. In 2012 the family of the legendary 20th century violinist honored the quartet with his name. Players are Andrey Baranov (violin); Rodion Petrov (violin); Fedor Belugin (viola); and Alexey Zhilin (cello). The quartet frequently performs across Europe, Asia, South America and at many of the most recognized Russian venues. For this concert, the quartet will perform works by Rachmaninov, Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, and Paganini.”
