Eugene Symphony Chorus auditions set for Sept. 24-25 for participation in Mozart’s Requiem (as completed by Robert Levin) on Nov. 14

When: 7 p.m. on Sept. 24 and 25

Where: The Studio, on the lower level of the Hult Center for the Performing Arts, One Eugene Center (Seventh and Willamette streets), Eugene

Details: Auditions for Chorus Section Leaders, a paid core of 16 singers, and new members of the Eugene Symphony Chorus. The process reflects a change in structure from previous years, as this audition is for Chorus Section Leaders — four in each voice type: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass for a total of 16 — who will be paid a stipend of $250 for all rehearsals and performance, and for new chorus members only. All existing chorus members not auditioning for Chorus Section Leaders are invited to return to the ensemble as volunteer members and do not need to audition.

The chorus will perform with the Eugene Symphony on November 14, 2019 program, singing Robert Levin’s completion of Mozart’s Requiem, conducted by Francesco Lecce-Chong. The program also includes Antonio Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Cellos in G Minor and Jessie Montgomery’s Records from a Vanishing City.

Auditions are by appointment only. Participants should prepare a short song or aria and be prepared to vocalize and/or sight read. Bring the piano accompaniment score for thechosen short song or aria; an accompanist will be provided.

Send résumés highlighting performance experience by 5 p.m. on September 20 to Andrew Mell, Eugene Symphony artistic operations assistant at andrew.mell@eugenesymphony.org
