Through the years, the singers of Eugene Vocal Arts — a vocal chamber ensemble under the Eugene Concert Choir umbrella — has presented what the organization describes as “a whimsical romp through Elizabethan p0mp and pageantry, blending period music, Shakespearean wit, and resplendent Renaissance-era dress,” as well as accompaniment by the Early Instrument Consort.

They’re doing it again this year, on Nov. 16 and 17, featuring works by some of the great masters of the madrigal form, such as Weelkes, Morley, Lasso, Hassler, and P.D.Q. Bach.

For many years, the performance was part of an English Madrigal Dinner party, and although dinner is not part of the festivities this time around, the Eugene Concert Choir organization says it is “sure your appetite for enjoyment will be sated.”
