Despite the exhibit title — Home Team: World Stage — this juried show, which will run June 24 through July 22, 2022, at the Maude Kerns Art Center, doesn’t imply that the art has to pertain to athletes or sports.
Rather, it got its name because it will be on display during the the World Athletic Championships that will take place July 15-24 at Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus, just a few blocks away from the art center.
According to the news release announcing the call to artists, this show will be “a juried exhibit open to any artist age 18 and up who resides in Lane County, or any artist who is a current member of the Maude Kerns Art Center. We would like to present the best artwork by our ‘Home Team’ of local artists to the ‘World Stage’ of national and international visitors.
“There is no single theme for work submitted to this show. Work need not be athletic-themed. Rather, we want all interested artists to submit their best work in whatever style and genre they work in. All mediums except for installations and performances will be considered.”
