Details: The 2019 EAC Youth Art Camp is designed to be a one-week art camp for middle school students, and a one-week art camp for high school students who reside in the Eugene and Springfield School Districts and all outlying areas. Students will be taught by accomplished instructors. The five-day camps will be both fun and busy, incorporating elements for a well-rounded visual arts experience: working in color, critical thinking, art history, composition and analysis. Learning these elements will help youths gain knowledge in arts education. This will foster an appreciation for the visual arts and understanding of the intrinsic values the arts bring to enhance our quality of life and strengthen community. The program engages students who might otherwise be under-served in schools, encouraging them to think creatively in all disciplines.

Classes are limited to 15 students: Applications are available online at http://www.emeraldartcenter.org. June 28 is the deadline to apply. The camp is a joint effort by the Dotty & Frank Light Family Endowment and the Emerald Art Center.

Cost: $125 (includes all supplies)
