Note: First of all, remember that getting to the First Friday ArtWalk can be as easy as getting a free bus pass from the Lane Transit District. Visit the ArtWalk website at lanearts.org the day of the ArtWalk and get the code.

During the Sept. 4 First Friday ArtWalk, the following galleries and venues will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., unless otherwise noted below:

#instaballet (Capitello Wines, 540 Charnelton St.) — Dancers and musicians create a new dance in real time, using audience ideas for movements to be performed by professional artists in a performance at 8 p.m. All ages welcome, no dance experience required. Food and drink available for purchase.

Allies, LLC (200 E. 11th Ave., Suite 130) — Featuring all-original artworks created at Allies by member artists. Proceeds from work sold benefit the Allies Art Fund.

Bree’s Way Gift Shop (1231 Alder St.) — Showing work by award-winning abstract painter and installation artist Cindy Ingram, in fluorescent colors and contrasting earthtone hues and displayed under black lights.

Broadway Commerce Center (44 W. Broadway) — Artwork by Heather Rose LeCompte, award-winning artist and expressive arts therapist based in Eugene, exploring folk art and whimsical abstraction.

Exhibitions- at City Hall (500 E. 4th Ave.) — Featuring Salon des Refusés, Selected Works with a special reception from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. celebrating selected works from 2026, highlighting 15 local artists working across watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, photography, drawing and sculpture.

Placemaking Letters (7th Street Hult Center Marquee) — Eugene’s newest interactive sculpture and landmark, featuring massive EUG letters perfect for posing, photographing, and sharing online.

Downtown Athletic Club (999 Willamette St.) — Special celebration in partnership with the Eugene Symphony, featuring live music by their musicians. Wine, beer, and sodas available for purchase.

Ebb & Flow Boutique (946 Willamette St.) — Beautiful Oregon, featuring landscape and nature photography prints and cards from Mike Gunderloy, a Eugene-based hiker and photographer.

Flux Crystals (280 W. Broadway) — Fauna and Fire, work by artists Heather Sterling-Minder, Gloria Udosenata, and Anna Bousquet, illuminating the ancient symbolism of fire, and the sacred kinship with animals as keepers of humans’ inner flame.

Karin Clarke Gallery (760 Willamette St.) — Presenting Luminous Worlds, featuring art by Claire Burbridge and Tallmadge Doyle, with remarks by the artists at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, followed by an artists’ reception. Exhibit examines the artists’ looking at their environments with an almost scientific eye, creating works masterful in their depictions of patterns in nature.

Materials Exchange Center for Community Arts (MECCA), 555 High St. — Featured artist Marilyn Kent with a focus on texture and process in both collage and painting, including both 2-D and 3-D works.

Midtown Arts Center (174 E. 16th Ave.) — Small- through large-scale paintings and drawings by Richard Quigley, expressing the artist’s surreal interpretation of the world in which we live.

New Zone Gallery (110 E. 11th Ave.) — Contemporary and traditional art by New Zone members, plus two featured artist shows and a special exhibition in the Klausmeier Room during the month of September:

  • Sheri Smith & Dean Jordan, Art From Nature (Part 2), with wooden pieces by Dean and weavings in natural fibers and gems by Sheri.
  • Meridith McClure (Biobroidery)
  • In the Klausmeier Room: The Pacific Rim Art Guild, Cheri Turk

One Wall Gallery at Epic Seconds (30 E. 11th Ave.) — You Can Return Most Items For Free, a show of new work by Peter Helinski and Benjamin Heiken, described as Art as the apple returned to the tree. The orchard that exfoliates its impetus as a form of sincerity.

PLAY (232 W. 5th Ave.) — Featured artist Mark Cohen, with paintings that blend acrylic and watercolor to form visual stories.

Shirley Kay, Fine Art & Apparel (790 Willamette St.) — A new arts venue in Eugene for artist Shirley Kay, exploring the beauty, movement, and personality found in both animals and the abstract world through original artwork, limited-edition prints, and an evolving collection of art-inspired apparel and accessories.

Venue on Broadway (28 E. Broadway) — A flood of works “out from the vault” organized by eclectic local artist and instructor Peter W. Harris.
