Oregon Mozart Players has chosen its next artistic director with the selection of David Amado, who will join the group in June 2025.

David Amado has been chosen to be the Oregon Mozart Players’ new artistic director.

Amado’s credentials include 20 seasons with the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, where he was honored by being named its first Music Director Laureate. He also served as music director of the Atlantic Classical Orchestra in Florida and has been guest conductor with many other leading orchestras, among them the Philadelphia Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, and Rochester Philharmonic as well as many other appearances, including with the Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Milwaukee, National, New World, and Toronto orchestras.

Weeks before his official start with the Oregon Mozart Players in June, Amado will conduct the group’s final concert of the 2024-25 season, titled Da Capo, on May 17 in Beall Hall on the University of Oregon campus.
