A great variety of art made it into this year’s Mayor’s Art Show in Eugene, ranging from scientific-level depictions of Northwest plants to wood-block assemblages to metal sculpture to paintings to video to ceramics to fiber arts.

The Eugene Mayor’s Art Show 2022

When: Through Sept. 4, 2022

Where: Eugene Downtown Public Library, 100 W. 10th Ave., Eugene

Hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday

Details: The entire show includes 46 pieces of art in a wide variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, fiber, assemblage, metalwork, etching, drawing, ceramic, and digital.

Works by two other artists in the show, displayed below, show their individual reactions to the wildfires that have plagued the McKenzie River Valley in recent years. Top, Fire Fall by Yasmin Staunau, followed by Sherrill Gaughan’s McKenzie River Fire.
