Downtown Eugene’s First Friday ArtWalk for Feb. 3
Guided Tour
The official guided tour for February begins at 5:30 p.m. at The Lincoln Gallery at 309 W. Fourth Ave., under the tutelage of Maiya Becker, who is vice president of MECCA, which stands for Materials Exchange Center for Community Arts, and also a reuse artist in her own right.
Those who attend the guided tour will have a chance to win tickets to Eugene Concert Choir’s Beethoven & Bernstein concert on Feb. 25 at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts.
The Lincoln Gallery show is a community exhibit called “Modern Love,” which conveys the challenges and rewards of contemporary love. Part of the show features artwork by participants in Oregon Supported Living’s Arts & Culture Program, with additional pieces by artists throughout the community. It includes paintings, prints, mixed media, sculpture and installations.

In addition, the OSLP Community Room Gallery will have a solo show of work by Angela Norman, called “Love Notes to Myself/Love Before I’ve Known It,” featuring paintings and poems created through the past two decades. The items in this collection are “process paintings,” meaning that they were done to explore a theme or process and not intended necessarily to be a final product.
The second stop on the tour is at 6 p.m. at Raven Frame Works at 325 W. Fourth Ave., where Eugene master printmaker Dennis Werst has a show of etchings called “Pipe Dreams.” One of his processes is making intaglio prints engraved on discarded copper plumbing pipes that have been cut, flattened and and polished.
At 6:30 p.m., the tour will visit Contemporary Mosaic Art Studio at 329 W. Fourth Ave., a new working artists studio that also offers public workshops. Artist Pam Givens, who grew up with mosaic-artist parents,

owns the new studio, and creations from throughout her career will be on display, along with mosaics by Belgian artist Jeannot Leenen, French artist Gerda Jacobs, Strahil Naydenov of Bulgaria ands Marian Shapiro of Australia.
Then it’s into the heart of downtown Eugene for a 7 p.m. stop at The Dining Room, run by FOOD for Lane County at 270 W. Eighth Ave. David Wolfersberger has a collection of watercolors there under the title, “the road ahead: a 3500-mile solo bicycle journey in art,” featuring work he created during the summer of 2016 as he rode his bicycle from Eugene to the Grand Canyon in Arizona.
He completed 75 on-location watercolors in field notebooks during the trip, and prints of his paintings will be for sale during the ArtWalk, with proceeds going to The Dining Room, which feeds 1,200 free sit-down, restaurant-style meals each week to those in need of some good food.

At this stop on the tour, there will be live music by Eugene bands Cross Current and Wandering Thyme.
The February art walk’s final official stop will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Maven Art Boutique at 271 W. Eighth Ave., where small works titled “Paintings For Hummingbirds” by Jamie Lee and Amanda Blaeuer’s Polaroid pictures or rural settings, transferred to wood panels, will be on display.

• ECO Sleep Solutions and Gallery (25 E. Eighth Ave.) — Felted wool home décor and apparel by Tylar Merrill; clay tile collages by Annie Heron; wall art by Mari Livie; whimsical hand painted wood and linen pieces and hand painted silk apparel by Lybi Thomas; stone carvings, wood sculptures and imaginative, fanciful masks by Cedar Caredio; and Luminessence light sculptures by Stephen White.
• Eugene Yoga (245 E. Broadway) — Work by Barbara Weinstein, including landscapes and portraits in gouache and oil.
• Euphoria Chocolate Company (946 Willamette St.) — Oil paintings in varying techniques by Sean Brennan, reflecting his experiences with the land, wildlife, and people in Kentucky, China, and Oregon.
• gilt+gossamer (873 Willamette St.) — The first public exhibition of abstract paintings by Nyssa Perrin Clark, who describes her work as “sometimes fun and playful, sometimes serious, and always with hope.”
• Goldworks Jewelry Art Studio (169 E. Broadway) — Original jewelry by Goldworks staff.
• The Jazz Station (124 W. Broadway) — Work by Gayle Macy, a self-taught artist works in acrylic, duct tape, digital, fiber, clay, and more. There will be live music by Tim McLaughlin from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

• Karin Clarke Gallery (760 Willamette St.) — Work by Louis Bunce (1907-1983), courtesy of Russo Lee Gallery and in conjunction with the Hallie Ford Museum of Art exhibit.
• MECCA (449 Willamette St.) — Artwork in a variety of media which have either been left, donated, or forgotten.
• Mosaic Fair Trade Collection (28 E. Broadway) — Handmade hearts and fair trade wine for Valentine’s Day.
• The New Zone Gallery (220 W. Eighth Ave.) — “Uncalculated Elements” by Dennis Duvaul features abstract paintings “to explore balance, texture, and pattern while embracing the imperfect.” Members of The Art Forum will have a collection of work in The Klausmeier Room. The guitar duo, Red Pajamas, will play.
• Out on a Limb Gallery (191 E. Broadway) — Watercolors by Lottie Streisinger, showcasing produce from the Farmers’ Market.
• Oregon Art Supply (1020 Pearl St.) — “Water Sees Sky: Paintings by Benjamin Terrell,” explores the expansiveness of sky as intensified in reflected water. Open until 6pm.
• Pacific Rim Art Guild (basement at 160 E. Broadway) — “The Sea Beckons,” a featuring calligraphy meshed with soft watercolor by Kay Beckham and oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings by Chuck North, plus some pieces created jointly.
• Passionflower Design (128 E. Broadway) — Handmade Valentine’s Day cards from local artists and presses and a small letterpress demonstration by Kristin Walker from Twin Ravens Press of small letterpress who will help visitors make their own tags.
• Red Wagon Creamery (55 W. Broadway) — A show called “Sentient,” featuring art by Luna Sansone.
Sam Bond’s Foundry has a show of Jason Rydquist’s photographs of timeless Western landscapes
• Sam Bond’s Foundry (540 E. Eighth Ave.) — Americana landscape photography by Jason Rydquist.
• Shadowfox (76 W. Broadway) — Work by Erich Schwartzwald from the Whiteaker Tattoo Collective.

• Eugene Public Library (100 W. 10th Ave.) — Free concert by Riverside Chamber Symphony starts at 6 p.m.
• No Shame Eugene (99 W. 10th Ave.) — Doors open at 7:30 p.m. with live music. The show begins at 8 p.m. with 15 original, five-minute-maximum acts including monologues, sketch comedy, and the experimental. The show includes the first 15 acts to register with the host when doors open. Come to perform or just watch.
