Hello friends and community,
You’re warmly invited to join us for Indigenous Movie Night at the Hult Center on Wednesday, September 9, for an evening of Indigenous art, film, storytelling, and conversation.
This month’s film is Remaining Native, the story of Ku Stevens, a Native American runner pursuing his dream of becoming a collegiate athlete while reconnecting with his family’s history and the land that has shaped their story.
6:00 p.m. — Doors Open
Come early and visit the Hult Center’s Contemporary Indigenous Art Gallery.
6:30 p.m.— Artist Talk with Don Bailey
Hupa artist Don Bailey will share the story behind Crow Foot Runners, his monumental work currently featured in the Hult’s Contemporary Indigenous Art Gallery.
7 p.m. — Remaining Native
The film begins promptly at 7:00 p.m.
Following the film — Virtual Q&A with Ku Stevens
Indigenous Movie Night was created by Don Dexter Gallery and Eugene Dental Sleep Center as a way to bring our community together through Indigenous film, contemporary art, history, and conversation.
The evening is free and open to everyone.
