Oregon Contemporary Theatre (OCT) will schedule audition appointments between noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, for several roles in their coming production of Thornton Wilder’s classic play, Our Town, which renowned American playwright Edward Albee (1928-2016) called “the “greatest American play ever written.”
The play will be performed at OCT from May 16 to June 1, 2025, at OCT at 194 W. Broadway in downtown Eugene.
Here’s the audition process, as described on the OCT website, at octheatre.org/audition
Thank you for your interest in working with Oregon Contemporary Theatre (OCT). Please complete the form below for casting consideration in our 2025 production of OUR TOWN. OCT will also keep auditioners in mind for future roles.
Questions on this form include opportunities to share information about your identity, including gender, age, race and cultural background. Your answers help OCT prioritize authentic, appropriate casting as called for in each script. Please share only what you feel comfortable sharing.
[NOTE: if you have previously been cast in an OCT regular season production — but not including NW10 — you do not need to audition.]
IMPORTANT: If it is January 8th or later, please call OCT directly to book your audition time, so we do not miss you! (541) 684-6988.
The pre-audition survey includes opportunities to share acting resumes and headshots, as well as pertinent information for the casting and audition process. Auditioners will then receive a phone call to reserve their audition time. Several roles are available for a wide range of ages
Those attending are asked to wear clothing they feel comfortable performing in, and to bring an extra copy of their resumes and headshots for the panel present on the day. They are asked to prepare a one-minute, contemporary monologue which best showcases their acting experience, as well as a joke. They are asked to arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before their call time, with opportunity provided to warm-up and prepare.
