The people at the Eugene Masonic Cemetery Association obviously had a sense of humor when they gave their summer concert series — it takes place inside the Hope Abbey Mausoleum where the acoustics are terrific — the title, “Music to Die For.”

If you haven’t checked it out before, it’s high time, especially since June 25th at 2 p.m. is the first concert of the summer.
The inaugural program for the 2017 season is a return appearance by the duo of Linda Danielson on fiddle and Janet Naylor playing Celtic harp.
It’s easy to keep track of the “Music to Die For” calendar: The performances take place on the last Sunday of the month from June through October.
Future concerts include:
July 30 — Buffalo Gals: Dianne Dugaw and Rachel Marcotte’s old-time American songs, hymns and dance tunes.
Aug. 27 — Fun, original Oregon String Band music with Wild Hog in the Woods.
Sept. 24 — Ensemble Primo Seicento’s 17th-century Italian music and instruments.
Oct. 29 — Bluegrass, folk and whatever else with Jim Dotson and the Western Tanagers.
There’s no charge for these concerts, but of course donations to help maintain and improve the nonprofit historic cemetery and its beautifully restored Art Deco mausoleum are welcome.
The mausoleum is located in the Eugene Masonic Cemetery, up a path from the main entrance at the corner of East 25th Avenue and University Street.
