Here’s the big question: Can a group of talented but sleep-deprived humans create a full-length play, from scratch, in a day and a half?

Whether yes, no, or somewhere in between, the answer will be revealed in the Blue Door Theatre at Lane Community College at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, when this talented and sleep-deprived group puts on a play they call 90 Minutes, No Intermission: Volume 1.

It’s a joint production of Operation Shadowbox and LCC’s Student Production Association, plus a bunch of theaterlovers from throughout the community, and the idea is to get together early on a Friday morning and start doing what it takes to cast, memorize, and stage a complete play for a one-time performance on Saturday evening.

Shadowbox producer and well-known actress and director Tara Wibrew says it’s a way to compress the process to “test our willpower, our creativity, and our ability to trust other artists — even those we’ve never worked with before.”

Local playwright Rachael Carnes provided the script.
