The Shedd Institute presents Forever Young: Dylan, The Band & Amerian Roots Rock with concerts in Eugene on Friday and Sunday, April 18 and 20, plus one in between in Corvallis.

Lynnea Barry leads the troupe in this look back at music from the late 1960s as expressed by Bob Dylan and other musicians and groups of the time. Think Blowin’ in the Wind, Like a Rolling Stone, Lay Lady Lay, Tonight I’ll Be Staying Here With You,  Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door, Forever Young, and literally dozens more.

These songs differed — and set a new direction toward country, blues, and folk music — from the earlier Sixties upswing in pop and rock music exemplified by the vastly popular rock groups of the time, both British and American.

The Shedd’s Forever Young program is headed by artistic director Lynnea Barry, with co-music directors Seth Mulvihill and Steve Arriola.

The musicians include Barry (vocals and guitar), Mulvihill (piano, organ), Arriola (vocals), along with Gene Newbold (vocals and guitar), Scoop McGuire (bass), Kenan Edler (drums) Matthew Taylor (reeds), and Julia Frantz (violin).
