ABOUT: The Writers in the Schools (WITS) program pairs working writers with classrooms to inspire students in creative writing. Collaborating with teachers, WITS writers develop engaging curricula aligned with learning objectives. In alignment with Wordcrafters’ mission, they emphasize the importance of reading and writing in daily life and empower students to express themselves creatively through writing. WITS writers share their expertise, insight, and enthusiasm for their craft, offering youth a unique creative writing arts experience during their regular school day.
OUR MISSION: We believe in the power of story. Stories tell us who we are, and who we can be. Wordcrafters empowers writers and readers by increasing access to community, craft, and inspiration. We provide a home for sharing knowledge and stories with each other and future generations to cultivate a more empathetic, creative, and courageous world.
