When: 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 16; pre-concert festivities begin at 1:30 p.m.
Where: Silva Concert Hall, Hult Center for the Performing Arts, One Eugene Center (Seventh and Willamette streets in downtown Eugene)
Details: We bring back this “musical” version of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, as envisioned by our artistic director Diane Retallack. Christmas Past becomes a Renaissance feast, Christmas Present occurs in Dickens’ era of the mid-1800s, and Christmas Future is a raucous, kitschy look at contemporary culture. The production is fully staged, with colorful costumes and sets, theatrical lighting and sound, action, pageantry and choreography. Pre-Concert Festivities in the Hult Center lobby include the Oregon Tuba Ensemble, hot spiced wassail, and a carol sing-along.
Tickets: $25-$52 (discounts for senior citizen, youth, and college students); available at the Hult Center box office, 541-682-5000, or online at hultcenter.org
