Details: The landscape of the American West is unique and varied. Its features are innumerable, yet related; reflecting the myriad countenances of the spirit of the land. Doremus is approaching his photography work by capturing images with reverence, asking permission of the rocks, trees and water to make a portrait; sometimes they oblige. His work powerfully portrays the nature of a place, his photography both communicates that character and the emotions that the scene evokes in him.
