Details: In celebration of Brian Jensen’s deep love of music: a special fundraiser for youth music scholarships at The Shedd Institute with a kickoff at Hop Valley Brewing. Raise a toast & support kids music! The Fundraiser will fund need-based youth scholarships for music classes or private lessons at The Shedd Institute Community Music School, and will be administered by The Shedd.
Music-loving Brian Jensen was 9 years old when, without warning, a power company released a flood that swept him away. In celebration of Brian’s kind-hearted spirit and deep love of music, his mother, Janice Jensen, is sponsoring this fundraiser for youth music scholarships at The Shedd.
The fundraiser kickoff is on Brian’s birthday, Wed. Oct. 16, 5-8 p.m. at Hop Valley Brewing Eugene. Non-alcoholic beverages, dinner, and a children’s menu are available. Hop Valley is also hosting a fun trivia night. Admission is free. Participants can support the scholarship
* by donating (directly to The Shedd’s staff),
* by buying a pint (Hop Valley will donate $1 from every pint sold at their Eugene Pub on Oct. 16 to the scholarship), and
* by buying a copy of Janice Jensen’s memoir, “One Ripple at a Time” (Janice will donate $13 from every book sold at Hop Valley on Oct. 16).
