Downtown Eugene’s First Friday ArtWalk of 2025 offers lots to see, as indicated in the following list of participating galleries and businesses that support the arts in the community.
Also as usual, those who need transportation to the ArtWalk may go online to the Lane Transit District’s website at ltd.org and receive a free bus pass to and from the event.
Here’s an alphabetical list of the galleries and other arts-related businesses that will be open on Jan. 3 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., unless otherwise noted:
Allies, LLC (200 E. 11th Ave., Suite 130) — Featured art this month is group art, created at Allies by member artists. Proceed from all work sold goes to benefit the Allies Art Fund.
Broadway Commerce Center (44 W. Broadway) — Solo exhibition of colorful and surreal paintings by David Placencia, including large artworks as well as samples of his murals; artist reception at 6:30 p.m.
City Exhibitions: EMERGE continues the artistic use of downtown window spaces, emphasizing professional exhibition experiences for new and emerging artists:
- 99 W. 10th Ave. (south windows) — Vanessa Woods Paintings, acrylic works incorporating gold leaf and other mixed media, exploring family, music, dance, nature, and history.
- Cultural Currents Farmers Market Pavilion (85 E. 8th Ave.) — Woman Working in the Field, a collage collaboration by Hampton Rodriguez and Sofia Carpenter-Rodriguez, offering visual representation and sociological insights highlighting the vital role of migrant workers.
- Hult Center Plaza on Sixth Avenue — Featuring A’ppealing and Leaf Dance, two sculptures of steel and reclaimed materials by artist Jenny Ellsworth.
Urban Canvas Murals from the City of Eugene’s local mural program:

- 941 Willamette St. Alley — Wayde Love’s newly completed mural, Radically Radiant.
- 957 Willamette St. Alley — Nature’s Child by Mural Mice Universal.
- 806 Charnelton St. — Julie Anderson Bailey’s show, Origins, including three separate installations, available for viewing around the clock through the large windows.

ColdFire Brewing (263 Mill St.) — Artistic styles and techniques by Lisa McElroy with vibrant, fluid designs created using alcohol ink, with subjects that often reflect the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
Karin Clarke Gallery (760 Willamette St.) — New Work: Faces, Landscapes, and Nudes by Adam Grosowsky, on display through Jan. 25.
The New Zone Gallery (110 E. 11th Ave.) — Showing eclectic art by New Zone members as well as two special exhibits:
- Art From Nature featuring Sheri Smith’s vibrant stichery and Dean Jordan’s lathe-creating bowls.
- Deborah Taylor’s Portraits of a Child, examining the likeness, essence, spirit, and personality of a child, using acrylic paint on canvas.
One Wall Gallery at Epic Seconds (30 E. 11th Ave.) — Surface of Mantra, work by Lesley Raeside and Frederic Dumoulin, through January 31, featuring Raeside’s singular geometric shapes in the foregrounds and Dumoulin’s repeating patterns and delicate pottery-like surfaces evoking vast landscapes.
OSLP Arts & Culture Center (110 E. 11th Ave., Suite C) — Continuing exhibition of the late Larry Hurst’s artwork as well as a chance to help create an artistic “vision board collage” for 2025, using supplies provided by the center.
Our 21st Century Renaissance (132 E. Broadway, Suite 212) — Featuring a painting by Carol Petty inspired by the Maui wildfires and depicting Mother Earth as a young Polynesian woman. Purchases of works by other contributing artists — Anna Golden, Thi Nuygen, Barbora Bakalarova, Priscilla Montoya, and Laura Lewis — will be eligible to win win Glenn Smith’s Obelisk 2023 plaster.
PLAY (232 W. 5th Ave.) — Reflections, a collection of works by Eugene-based artist Gloria Udosenata, using paint and reflective surfaces “to explore beyond the veil, the skin, and the logical mind to invoke a sensory experience of reality and possibility.”
Sparrow Nest Coffee (lobby at 132 E. Broadway) — Work by artist, UO graduate art student, Maude Kerns art teacher, and Cascade Raptor Center volunteer Levi Whittier, featuring everything from scratchboards to printmaking to 3D rendering.
Starlight Lounge (830 Olive St.) — A show of work by artist Neato with paintings and prints based in mixed-media, spray paint, and acrylic, and featuring the piece, From the Streets to the Walls.
Additional venues — Art with Alejandro (5th Street Market Alley, 550 Pearl St., Suite 104), Bumble Boutique (233 W. 5th Ave.), and Flux Crystals (280 W. Broadway).
