Chamber Music Amici will play two days of concerts on Sept. 2 and 3, 2025, as it presents its Two Day Summer Festival on the grounds of the Mt. Pisgah Arboretum, at 34901 Frank Parrish Road in the countryside southeast of Eugene and Springfield.*
The first day of the festival, Thursday, Sept. 2, will begin at 6:45 p.m. and is titled Dialogue in Rhythms, beginning with Hungarian composer Bela Bartok’s Romanian Folk Dances, arranged for bass and piano, followed by Romanian composer George Enescu’s lyrical Cantabile et presto for flute and piano.
After that comes Russian-American composer Serge Koussevitzky’s Two Pieces for Bass and Piano, then ending the evening’s offerings with French composer Claude Bolling’s Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio.
Performers for that concert include Jacqueline Cordova-Arrington, flute; Eunhye Grace Choi, piano; Tyler Abbott, bass; and Ryan Biesack, drums.
Day 2, on Wednesday, Sept. 3, titled American Rhapsody in Piano Trio, also begins at 6:45 p.m. and opens with Antonio Vivaldi’s Trio Sonata in C Minor, followed by Horatio Parker’s Suite for Piano Trio, and Johann Sebastian Bach’s Violin Sonata in E Minor, and closing with a piece called the Porgy and Bess Fantasy, taken from American composer and pianist George Gershwin’s opera.
Performers that evening will be Tomás Cotik, violin; Steven Pologe, cello; and Eunhye Grace Choi, piano.
Seating for the concerts offers two choices:
- Free seating on the lawn can be had by registering in advance online; capacity is limited.
- General admission seating in the White Oak Pavilion at $40 per person or $5 each for students accompanied by parent(s), plus a $3 per person handling fee.

The Arboretum is located at 34901 Frank Parrish Rd, Eugene, OR 97405, tucked into the larger Lane County Park called the Howard Buford Recreation Area.
- From Interstate 5, Southbound: Take Exit 189. At the base of the off-ramp, turn right and head toward 30th Avenue. Make a left turn at the stop light at 30th Avenue and cross over the freeway. At the 4-way stop sign just past the overpass, turn left. Make a right turn onto Franklin Blvd at the Shell Station, and cross under the railroad bridge. Follow Franklin around a curve, then turn left onto Seavey Loop Road and continue onto Seavey Way (a total of 1.5 miles). Cross a short bridge over the river and turn right onto Frank Parrish Rd. and follow into the Arboretum parking lot.
- From Interstate 5, Northbound: Take Exit 189. At the stop sign at the end of the offramp, go forward. Make a right turn onto Franklin Blvd at the Shell Station and cross under the railroad bridge. Follow Franklin around a curve, then turn left onto Seavey Loop Road and continue onto Seavey Way (a total of 1.5 miles). Cross a short bridge over the river and turn right onto Frank Parrish Rd. and follow into the Arboretum parking lot.
- From South Eugene: Take 30th Avenue past Lane Community College. Cross the freeway overpass and turn left at the 4-way stop sign. Turn right after the Shell Station onto Franklin Blvd. Follow this road around a curve. Turn left onto Seavey Loop Road and continue onto Seavey Way (a total of 1.5 miles). Cross a short bridge over the river and turn right onto Frank Parrish Rd. and follow into the Arboretum parking lot.
- From Springfield: Head west on OR-126 BUS W/Main St. toward Pioneer Parkway E. At the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit onto OR-225 South. Turn left onto Franklin Blvd. and continue for 0.6 miles. Turn left onto Franklin Blvd. E. and continue for 0.4 miles. Turn left onto Seavey Loop Road and continue onto Seavey Way (a total of 1.5 miles). Cross a short bridge over the river and turn right onto Frank Parrish Rd. and follow into the Arboretum parking lot.
