The Emerald Art Center announces their 13th Annual Emerald Spring Exhibition 2018, a fine art painting competition with more than $5,000 in prizes, including $1,500 for Best of Show; Gold Medal, $1,000; Silver Medal, $700; Bronze Medal, $500, People’s Choice Award, $250; and others to be announced later.
This exhibition recognizes and rewards excellence in fine art from all over the United States, and accepts juried entries from artists 18 years and older.
Entry rules
Entries must be submitted online; artists may submit up to four images for consideration, but no more than one will be selected from a particular artist. This year’s juror, Texas artist Randy Meador — known primarily for his “cowboy art” and western themes in both watercolor and oil — will make choices from digital images. His work may be seen at randymeador.com.
Meador will select up to 70 finalists for inclusion in the show, and the winners of cash prizes will be determined after the show has been installed.
Applications are accepted online through CaFE at callforentry.org. Click on View All Calls and type Emerald Art Center in the search. All submissions must be received prior to midnight (11:59:59 p.m.) Mountain Time — one hour later than Pacific Standard Time — on March 14, 2018.
To apply, register on the website and upload your images to create a personal portfolio. For help using the CaFE site, go online to callforentry.org/cafehelp.phtml.
