Audition details for Cottage Theatre’s Mary Poppins
Cottage Theatre will hold auditions on Jan. 11 and 12, 2025, for its spring musical, Mary Poppins. A large cast is needed for this production which will run for four weekends, April 4-27.
Youth auditions will be held Saturday, January 11 at 2 p.m.
Adult auditions are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 11 at 5 p.m. and Sunday, January 12 at 5 p.m. Auditions will take place at Cottage Theatre, 700 Village Drive, in Cottage Grove.
This adaptation of the 1964 Disney movie musical has become an enduring fixture on stages around the world thanks to songs like Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Chim Chim Cher-ee. Cottage Theatre’s production of Mary Poppins promises a blend of familiar tunes and high-flying moments — a heartwarming reminder that the extraordinary can be found in the most ordinary of places.
Roles are available for approximately 20-25 adults and two children, Jane (age 10-13ish) and Michael (age 9ish).
Interested actors are asked to prepare 16–32 bars (90 seconds or less) of a song in the style of Mary Poppins (but not from the show) and bring sheet music for the provided accompanist. Auditions will also include a dance component and reading from the script.
