OCT is looking for actors for our 2022/2023 season!
Artists of all identities, ethnicities, genders, ages and abilities are encouraged to audition. Many of this season’s roles are open to all adult actors. Additionally, some roles call for actors of specific identities, including:
– Appx. 12-year-old girl, any race
– 20s trans gender man, any race
– 30s-40s man, Asian (Vietnamese)
– 30s-40s woman, Asian (Vietnamese)
– 20s man, not white
Actors may choose to audition in person or submit an audition video. Those who have previously appeared in one of OCT’s regular season productions need not audition. Following general auditions, callbacks are held on a show-by-show basis throughout summer and fall.

In Person Auditions: Saturday, July 23 starting at 10:00am
at OCT, 194 W Broadway (between Charnelton & Olive)
Note: this audition is scheduled during the World Athletics Championships. Consider possible traffic delays while scheduling your audition and planning your route to OCT.
Schedule an appointment by completing the registration form linked here. The form has space for you to upload a headshot (or similar photo) as well as a resume or description of theatre experience. Hard copy photos and resumes are not needed.
– Prepare a memorized, one-minute, contemporary monologue and a joke. For examples of the kinds of scripts OCT regularly produces, check out our production history (linked here).
– On the day of auditions, please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your audition time with your proof of vaccination and a matching photo ID.**
– Face masks will be required when our county is at a high-risk level. At medium and low risk levels, masks are encouraged but not required. Actors may remove their masks while performing.
– If you do not feel well, or have COVID-19 symptoms or exposure, please stay home. OCT will happily work with you to reschedule. When you are able, contact Associate Producer Tara Wibrew: tara@octheatre.org.
Digital Auditions: Submit by 11:59pm (Pacific) on Saturday, July 23**
– Prepare a video recording of two contrasting contemporary monologues , no longer than 3 minutes total, and upload it to YouTube or Vimeo.
– Complete the registration form linked here. The form has space for you to upload a headshot (or similar photo), a resume or description of theatre experience, and a link to your audition video.
** For the health and safety of our community, OCT artists, staff and volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. In order to audition in person and/or begin rehearsals, artists must show hard copy or digital proof of full vaccination along with matching photo ID. (A photo of your vaccination card is acceptable.)

Frequently Asked Questions
– When are callbacks? OCT works to hold callbacks at least one month prior to the beginning of rehearsals for any given show; callbacks may be completed as early as the fall for the entirety of the production season. Callbacks are by invitation only, held on a per-show basis. Artists invited to callbacks will be notified of any precast role(s).
– When are rehearsals? Rehearsals are generally Sunday-Thursday evenings, with the occasional weekend daytime rehearsal. Rehearsal schedules are determined on a per-show basis.
– Does OCT work with Equity actors or non-local artists? OCT works to offer a limited number of guest artist contracts to AEA actors and professional artists based outside the Eugene/Springfield area.
