Auditions for Cottage Theatre’s production of Shrek the Musical
Cottage Theatre will hold auditions for Shrek the Musical, a fairytale adventure for the whole family. This production playing, October 5-28, will be directed by Keith Kessler, with music direction by Keri Davis, and choreography by Janet Rust. A large, all-ages cast is needed. No appointment necessary.
Auditions will consist of singing, dancing, and reading from the script. Interested performers should prepare 16-32 bars of a song similar to the show, but not from the show itself. An accompanist will be provided, and actors should bring sheet music. Dress in attire that will allow for movement, as all actors will be dancing in the show.

Based on the Oscar-winning animated film, Shrek the Musical is a blend of adventure and romance. Shrek, a green ogre, is the unlikely hero who finds himself on a quest led by his desire to reclaim his swamp from fairytale trespassers. Shrek makes a deal with the evil Lord Farquaad that if he rescues Princess Fiona, Farquaad will give the fairytale misfits their homes back so Shrek can reclaim his swamp. Joined by Donkey, Shrek eventually frees the princess from a tour guarded by a dragon. There is more to the princess than meets the eye.
