Soprano Renée Fleming returns to Eugene to sing with the Eugene Symphony
Soprano Renée Fleming sings with the Eugene Symphony on Sept. 19
For the first time in 10 years, renowned soprano Renée Fleming will sing with the Eugene Symphony, with its new conductor, Francesco Lecce-Chong, on the podium.
Fleming is known for her rich voice, extraordinary musical artistry and compelling stage presence. She will participate in a varied program that includes:
- George Bizet: Selections from Carmen (orchestra only)
- Gabriel Fauré: Mandoline
- Camille Saint-Saëns: Soirée en mer
- Léo Delibes: Les Filles de Cadix
- Aaron Copland: Down a Country Lane (orchestra only)
- Samuel Barber: Knoxville Summer of 1915
- Giuseppe Verdi: I Vespri Siciliani Overture (orchestra only)
- Licinio Refice: Ombra di Nube
- Paolo Tosti: Aprile
- Arrigo Boito: L’altra notte in fondo al mare from Mefistofele
- Bedrich Smetana: Bartered Bride – Dance of the Comedians (orchestra only)
- Antonin Dvořák: Songs My Mother Taught Me, and Song to the Moon from Rusalka
