Details: The Emerald Art Center announces “Photography at the Emerald: 3rd Annual Autumn Exhibition – 2018″, a juried fine art photography competition with more than $4000 in Cash Awards. Best of Show: $1,000; Gold Medal: $750; Silver Medal: $500; Bronze Medal: $250; People’s Choice: $200; “Best Wet Chemistry Print”: $200; “Best Mixed Media Print”: $200. Other awards to be announced.
This juried photography exhibition was conceived to recognize and reward excellence in fine art photography from all over the United States, and augments the decades long Emerald Art Center National Juried Spring Exhibition for painters.
This year’s juror is artist and photographer Paula Goodbar, who will select up to 90 finalists for the exhibition. Goodbar will select the prize winners from the accepted photographs after the exhibition is installed.
CATEGORIES:
Qualifying media include all genera of photography. If the final print includes one or more other mediums, it is considered mixed media and a statement of execution must be provided. The final print must be at least 50% an original photo image.

ELIGIBILITY:
1. This is a juried photography competition open to all photographers residing in the United States, 18 or older.
2. All photographs shall be no larger than 42″ in any direction (42″X 42″) including frame.
3. Diptychs & triptychs must be contained in one frame that meets the size requirements.
4. All entries are presented to the juror in an anonymous manner.
5. Accepted works may not be removed before the conclusion of the exhibition.
INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS:
Accepted artwork must be shipped “installation ready.” All work must be framed with wire hangers – no sawtooth hangers. Canvas wraps are acceptable, as long as they have a wire hanger on the back, and are “installation ready.” Orientation or installation instructions for specialized hardware should be included with the work. For any artwork that requires non-standard set up, please include detailed unpacking, hanging, or re-packing instructions.
ENTRIES:
1. Online CAFE entries are due on Tuesday, July 17th, 2018. POSTAL ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. callforentry.org/festivals_unique_info.php?ID=5330
2. The non-refundable entry is: 1 image for $35. Each additional image is $5, up to 4 images for $50. Each entry must be paid in full.
3. Photographers may submit up to four images per entry, but a maximum of two entries per artist will be included in the exhibition as selected by the juror.
4. Photographers whose work is accepted will receive shipping instructions via email. All shipments must include a prepaid return shipping label and be shipped in a container appropriate for re-use in return shipping. Please, no styrofoam peanuts in packaging.
5. A $25 handling fee is assessed for shipped artwork, $10 for hand-delivered, which is refunded if the piece sells.
6. Accepted work which differs significantly from the image provided will be rejected.
7. Photographs must be for sale. Emerald Art Center retains 35% commission.
8. No price change may be made after entries are accepted.
LIABILITY:
Artwork and entry materials will be handled with all possible care while in the possession of the Emerald Art Center. Emerald Art Center is not responsible for artwork while in transit. Artists must carry their own insurance if desired. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance of artwork.
