The Don Dexter Gallery is showing a solo exhibit of art by Ron Bunch through Dec. 21, 2024. Titled Ron Bunch: Paper and Paint — Collage Landscape Expressions, it includes landscapes created with painted rice paper and archival tissue in collage on board.

A self-taught artist, Bunch’s work reflects the natural rural landscapes of Oregon and Arkansas, where he spent his youth. In addition to his collage works, he participates in ceramic art at Radius Studios in Portland.

Some of the works featured in this show and their messages include:

  • Fault Line — exploration of divergent beliefs about climate change between eastern Oregon and the Willamette Valley, based on contrasts observed during a state legislative session.
  • Far Deep — visual concept of the deep ocean, down to the mysteries of volcanic vents.
  • Chasm — examination of the power of the ocean during intense storms.
