Minority Voices Theater, a project of Eugene’s Very Little Theatre, presents a show called GOD IS UNAVAILABLE, written and performed by Eden Omari, in two performances on July 27 and 28, 2024.

The show is described as an “autobiographical dramatic comedy.” It is the story of a young boy — black and gay — and his father, religious and at the same time streetwise. It is set over a series of decades, from 1965 to the present in various parts of New York City, probably including Brooklyn and Spanish Harlem. Its scenes evoke a variety of urban environments, including playground, subway, church, and disco club, not to mention some far-from-New-York locales such as Africa’s Serengeti National Park, Heaven, and even somewhere in the presence of God.

Omari’s production of GOD IS UNAVAILABLE is staged and choreographed by Wesley Jones Productions in Los Angeles. The show runs 90 minutes , with a 15-minute intermission.
