Our Bodies, Our Voices, Our Open Mic, Vol. 2 — 7:30 p.m. sign-up, 8 p.m. show. A show by women for women and men that had its inaugural performance on Jan. 1, in conjunction with Eugene’s version of the Million Woman March. Performance of original poetry, prose, comedy, dance and music, with a five-minute limit. Betty and the Babes and Leigh Anne Jasheway will be there. Hosts are Olive Delsol and Katie Schuessler. Poetry for the People — 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Robert Heilman, author of the Oregon blue-collar classic “Overstory Zero: Real Life in the Timber Country of Oregon,” will read from his latest collection of essays, “The World Pool, a Literary Variety,” followed by an open mic. Free.

Minority Voices Theatre — 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The group’s first production is a play by Emily Mann, “Having Our Say,” directed by Stan Coleman. It’s the true story of the Delany sisters, African-American and 101 and 103 years old at the beginning of the play, who tell the story of their lives from the post-Civil War years through Jim Crow and civil rights to contemporary times. Readers will be Arbrella Luvert and Charmaine Coleman. $5 to $50 sliding scale; proceeds above $5 per ticket will benefit the Lane County Chapter of the NAACP. Eugene Poetry Slam maven Jorah LaFleur will perform along with with celebrated poetry reader Shane Koyczan on March 7
Shane Koyczan and Jorah LaFleur! — 7:30 p.m. Koyczan is winner of the Individual Champion title at the National Poetry Slam and the Canadian Spoken Word Olympics and performed his poem, “We Are More” at the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, B.C. LaFleur has been maven of the Eugene Poetry Slam for 10 years. She is a Eugene-grown emcee, writer, actress, performance poet and hip hop star.
